Privacy

This site does not collect anything about you.

No analytics, no cookies, no tracking pixels, no advertising, no forms. That is unusual enough to be worth stating plainly, and specific enough to be checkable.

The short version. Reading this site is anonymous. Nothing here sets a cookie, runs an analytics script, or asks you for information.

If you email me, book a call, or subscribe to the newsletter, you are handing information to me or to a named third party, and this page says exactly which and what happens to it.

What this site does

Every page is static. There is no database, no login, no form, and no comment system. Two pages run a small script: one animates a wallpaper preview in your browser, and one forwards you to a booking page. Neither sends anything anywhere.

  • No cookies. Nothing is stored in your browser, so there is no cookie banner to dismiss
  • No analytics. I do not know how many people read this, which pages they read, or where they came from
  • No advertising, and no third-party tracking of any kind
  • No embedded content that loads from another company. Videos and other sites are linked, not embedded
  • Nothing is sold or shared, because there is nothing to sell or share

What the host records

This site is served by Cloudflare. Like every web host, it records standard request information, including IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser's user agent. That happens at the infrastructure level, it is used to serve the site and to protect it from attack, and I do not build profiles from it or connect it to anything else.

When you contact me

Email. Writing to thomas@thomastornatore.com means I hold your message and address in Microsoft 365, in my own tenant. I keep correspondence for as long as it is useful and delete it on request.

Booking a call. The booking links go to Microsoft Bookings, and the details you enter there go to Microsoft, under their privacy statement, and then into my calendar. Typically your name, email address, and anything you choose to write in the notes.

The newsletter. The Wrong Default is published on Substack. Subscribing happens on their platform under their policy, not here, and I do not import that list into anything else.

Client and engagement information

If you engage me for advisory work, the material you share is covered by the engagement letter and by any confidentiality agreement between us, not by this page. In outline: client material is held in Microsoft 365 in my own tenant, it is not used to train anything, it is deleted on request, and it is deleted within a defined period after delivery unless you ask me in writing to keep it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information I hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Ask, and I will answer. Given that this site collects nothing, in most cases the honest answer will be that I hold nothing beyond an email exchange you started.

I do not sell personal information. I have never sold personal information. There is no opt-out to configure because there is nothing to opt out of.

Children

This site is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone. Still in Charge, the schools initiative, holds no student data at all.

Changes

If this ever stops being accurate, because I add analytics or a form or anything else, this page changes first and the date below changes with it. A privacy policy that describes practices its author does not actually have is worse than no policy, particularly from someone whose work is governance.
